Surrounded by loved ones, Joy Elizabeth Gregg peacefully closed her eyes in this world and opened them to meet her Savior in heaven on May 7, 2026. Joy was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to all who knew her. Her ready smile, engaging sense of humor, and desire to connect with every person who crossed her path will always be remembered. She is survived by sons Randy, Roger (Cheryl), and Rob (Barb), grandchildren Michele (Jonathan), Holly (Jeremy), Jeremy, Joanna, Jared (Meg), Hillary (Marc), Kevin, Michelle, and Jessica (Tony) as well as 16 great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by husband Bob, sisters Jewel and Jean, and brothers Jerry and Jim.

Joy was born in Twin Falls, ID but grew up on a dairy farm in Sunnyside, WA and graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1956. She met the love of her life, Bob, and after a courtship married in June of 1957. They raised their family in Finley, WA for nearly 20 years and celebrated 51 years of marriage before his death in 2008.

She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Kennewick (later South Hills Church). She served in the nursery, was a leader in the youth group, sang in the choirs and arranged beautiful floral displays to grace the church as well as showed hospitality by preparing dinners and hosting visiting missionaries.

Joy worked on and off for the Benton County Cooperative Extension office as Office Manager from age 19 to her retirement in 1998. This allowed her to share knowledge on everything from canning tips to eradicating lawn pests. When she retired, she and Bob were able to travel, Joy had time to read, and she and her sister mostly kept out of trouble (when not shopping for bargains at thrift stores).

She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren unabashedly and they loved their Nana Joy in return. Her love for all things purple, her delicious cinnamon rolls and the numerous Labor Day family campouts at Ohanapecosh are family memories that live on.

Joy loved Isaiah 40:31 "But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint". We rejoice in the certainty that she is now free from pain with a renewed mind and a JOY-ful spirit in the presence of Jesus.
