Born on February 4, 1942, in Prosser, WA, to Glen and Thelma Snyder, Joe was a lifelong member of the Benton City community. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Vietnam from February 1966 to February 1968, and received an honorable discharge after his service.

Joe is survived by his children, Bud Schmidt and Gayle Hall (Chuck); his brother, Herb Snyder (Jeannie); and five cherished grandchildren: Melissa May, Lindsey Parr (Eddie), Robbie Schmidt (Terri), Chelsea Parr, and Tyler Parr. He is also lovingly remembered by his great-grandchildren: Karlee May, Conner Castillo, Lidia Schmidt, Davina Castillo, Anela Castillo, Jayce Leckenby, Rylee Schmidt, and Sophie Castillo.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years; his granddaughter Bailey Castillo; his parents Glen and Thelma Snyder; brothers Ralph, Ivan, Melvin, Calvin, Glen, Franklin, and Virgil; and sisters Rose Snyder and Anita Tarr.
