Obituary

John Lee Shinledecker was born in Seoul, South Korea on May 4, 1985 and passed away in Vancouver, WA on February 10, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kim Shinledecker. He is survived by his father, Don Shinledecker, his step-mother Sook Shinledecker and his two step-sisters Lina Older and Susan Larson.

He attended Kamiakin High School, class of 2003, and played baseball there all 4 years. He also attended Columbia Basin College where he played on their hockey team. Johnny "Tsunami" was a friend and respected colleague to many. His primary occupation was in retails sales, service and management at various automotive companies and had recently started his own floor shielding company in Oregon and SW Washington. He was an avid volunteer in the communities he served and cherished the many connections he made with "his people." Some of John's favorite hobbies included fishing, barbecuing, being active outdoors, caring for his beloved dog Mia, playing cards, arm wrestling, shooting pool and cheering on the Seattle Seahawks and the Tri-City Americans.

He absolutely loved the Christmas holiday, always going all out on his decorations. He also kept the best lawn in his neighborhood and was quite proud of that. Perhaps his greatest love in life though was for his mother, Kimmy. The two shared a special bond and he always held her in his highest regards. John was an exceptional man who cared deeply and lived fully. He will be dearly missed by all. Fly high, John Bear!
