John William Mariotti of Richland left this world on August 4, 2014. John was born on August 12, 1932, to Primo and Ethel Mariotti of Enumclaw, Washington. John spent wonderful years growing up in the small town of Enumclaw enjoying life as only you could back in the 30's - running away from home in the morning, lunching with the hobos down by the railroad tracks but always home for dinner. He loved the ladies of his Mom's card club and they spoiled him in return. John graduated from White River High School/Enumclaw in 1951 and Western Washington College of Education in 1957. He loved playing football and played on three teams that were State Champions - Jr. High, High School and Western's team in 1951. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for two years before completing his college education. John married his high school sweetheart, De Lores Renner in 1954. They had four sons, John, Jr., Jack, Jay and Jerol. He was extremely proud of his sons and their accomplishments. John taught school in Washington and California for a number of years. He worked for Exxon Nuclear and Siemens and retired in 1995. He enjoyed his family, traveling, and playing golf at TCCC. John is survived by his wife of 60 years, his sons, John, Jr. of Dallas, Texas (daughters Brittany and Michelle), Jack (wife Debra and daughter Jenalee) of Grandview, Jerol (wife Michelle and children Jenna, Jay, Ryan and Marissa) of West Richland, Grandchildren, Jason of Shreveport, LA and Desiree of Plano, TX and one Great Grandson Jackson Primo Scopa of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings and son Jay. John chose cremation and a quiet end of life without ceremony. His wishes will be honored. A family celebration of his life will be held at the annual Mariotti Reunion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tri-City Union Gospel Mission, PO Box 1443, Pasco, WA 99301.
