John passed away on June 23rd, 2015 at Callaway Gardens which he called home for the past two years. He was born in Lewistown, Montana to John Allan and Mary Naomi Hunt Allan. After graduating from high school in Prosser, John enlisted in the Navy. He later met and married his wife of 53 years, Burnie Myers. They resided in Prosser and later Kennewick, Washington. Together they raised her son, Herman L. Rippy. John joined the electrical union and worked for Hooper's Plumbing and Electrical. He later started his own electrical business, Allan Electric, which he ran until he retired. John had a passion for collecting and repairing antique clocks for himself and others. He also had the honor to work the time clock at the Water Follies boat races for years. Burnie passed in 2002 and he later married Jutta Beck who passed away after seven years of marriage. John is survived by his stepson, Herman Rippy (Dorothy), granddaughters, Shawna Tietsort (Jim), Belinda Money (Michael), Delia Byers (Dave), Shannon Heaston (Wayne), grandson Ken Cole (Trina), numerous great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2015, 10:00 a.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick. Interment with military honors will immediately follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
