Joe Gifford
Vincent
Jan 17, 1930 — Sep 29, 2025
Joe Vincent, 95, died on September 29, 2025. Born in Leavenworth, Washington, Joe was one of eight brothers and a gifted athlete from an early age. After working in the timber industry and serving in the military, he became a partner in Big Pierre Lumber, owning five lumber yards across the northwest before retiring at age 49.
Joe was a northwest ski jumping champion from 1946-1950, was on the WSU ski jumping team, and participated in the 1948 Olympic Trials. He was also a founding member of Meadow Springs Country Club where he proudly played the first round of golf and enjoyed many years as a scratch golfer. At the age of 79 Joe scored a round of 66, 6 under par. Each of his sons and grandsons benefited as he patiently taught them to ski and play golf.
A devout Catholic, Joe was faithful member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kennewick since its inception. His days were filled with prayer, and his life reflected his deep devotion to God and family. It is a testament to the prayers of Joe and Trudy that their entire family has remained true to their Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Gertrude ("Trudy"). He is survived by his sons Mike (Lori) and Mark (Maureen) of Pasco, seven grandsons-Drew (Nadene), Luke (Kelly), Doug (Stefanie), Joe (Mariah), Zack (Krystal), Hank (Sara), Nick (Kelksy) and twenty -one great grandchildren.
Joe was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and family that will be cherished for generations.
