Joe Edmond Sproul was born June 16, 1931 in Seattle, Washington. Joe was raised in Spokane by his parents, Wallace and Ava Sproul and attended Spokane schools. He spent three years in the Army in Germany during the Korean War. He worked for the City of Spokane 42 years from 1952 to 1994.

Joe and his bride, Erna Joy of 41 years liked to travel with family to Europe after they retired and eventually moved to Kennewick, WA to be near son Gerald and Gail and grandsons. They wintered in Arizona 10 years. Joe enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, gold mining and woodworking.

Joe was an active life member of Manito Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Spokane, South Spokane Shrine Club and El Katif Shrine of Spokane and Columbia Basin Shrine Club. Joe was a Charter Member of the Legion of Honor Shrine club and longtime member of the El Katif Shrine Band and Sadir Khan Grotto, Spokane Unit.

Joe is survived by his wife, Erna Joy Sproul, daughter, Julie and Jay Babineau and grandsons, Spencer and Weston; daughter Diane and Steven Zemke and grandchildren Anna, Bethany, Nathaniel, David, Jonathan and great grandchildren; Gerald and Gail Rensink and grandsons Dain and wife Ana Rensink, daughters Isa and Daphne and Zachary Rensink.

Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, Kennewick, WA is in charge of arrangements.

Graveside services and burial will be at Lewis and Clark Memorial Gardens, Lewiston, Idaho. Monday, November 24, 2025 at 2:00pm.
