Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Joan Sheridan Santos passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Kennewick General Hospital. She was born on October 17, 1937, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to John Sheridan Radcliffe and Leona Tobey Radcliffe. Joan is survived by her sons, Anthony Philip Santos and Joseph Domingo Santos; grandchildren, Jeramy Santos, Erica Santos, and Nicholas Santos; six great-grandchildren; and brother, John Barry Radcliffe. Joan grew up in Iowa and Nebraska before moving to Pasco, WA, where she attended Pasco Senior High School. After receiving a degree in Cosmetology she moved to Seattle where she met her husband, Philip L. Santos. After marriage, Joan moved to Southern California where she worked at various jobs including the U.S. Postal Service. In 1970 she moved back to the Tri-Cities where she lived for 38 years. Joan loved spending time with her family and friends, was an avid reader, and loved animals. Joan enjoyed time with friends playing Bingo, traveling, watching movies, and playing games on the computer. Joan was especially proud of her British Royal Family lineage and was a member of the Episcopal Church. A Memorial Service and reception will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 3:30pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1609 W. 10th Ave. in Kennewick, Washington. Flowers can be sent to the St. Paul's Episcopal Church or a donation can be a made to a local animal charity.
