Obituary

Jerome (Jerry) Leonard Wallace was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on November 18, 2025. He was born in Perham, Minnesota on August 5, 1941 to Leonard Wallace & Helen Koehler Wallace.

In high school, he worked for a co-op store delivering groceries and candled eggs in New York Mills, Minnesota. After high school he attended Dunwoody Industrial Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He joined the Army in 1962, was honorably discharged in 1965. During his service he did one tour in Korea and one in Vietnam.

Upon discharge, Jerry worked for AT&T and Northwest Bell Telephone Company of Fargo, North Dakota.

On August 6, 1966, Jerry married his beautiful wife Patricia Holly Nelson.

Jerry and his family moved to the Tri-Cities in 1976 where he started work for Hanford. While at Hanford he was a part of a team that developed and patented a modification for a core driller that would have failed during the drilling process without their structural design.

Jerry retired in 2003 staying busy helping neighbors and family with many projects; welding, wood working or mechanics. He loved the time he could now spend with his grandchildren, and fell in love again with enjoyment of camping, fishing, playing cards and having coffee with buddies.

Jerry was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #5785, serving as commander for several years. He performed military honors for 300+ funerals. He helped start the Veterans Assembly at Highlands Middle School and participated in all military celebrations.
