On Wednesday Dec, 16 Jean Shirley Swanson, loving wife and mother of two passed away at age 88. Jean was born in Regina Saskatchewan on Sept 14 1932 and was always very proud of her Canadian Heritage. In 1954 Jean married Robert Lee and settled in Montana where they had two sons. Jean moved to the Tri-City area in 1966 with her two boys after becoming a widow. In 1968 Jean married George Swanson and they built a long happy life in Burbank. Jean was a lifelong learner, an avid reader and made education a priority in the home. She enjoyed crosswords, word games, puzzles and trivia. Jean and George loved to travel. Their favorite destination was France. She was quick to strike up a conversation with anyone and made friends quickly. Jean also loved art, museums and enjoyed painting. She also gardened and was especially proud her giant summer vegetable garden. Her grandchildren will always remember the endless hours she dedicated tossing the baseball or frisbee with them in the backyard. Jean had a passion for animals and her dog of choice was a series of Chinese Pugs. She also loved visiting with all the family and friends she had made in her 54 years in Burbank. Jean was well known for her quick wit and sense of humor Jean is survived by her two children Stephen and Brian, her grandchildren Scott and Jeff and her great grandchildren Summer and Paige. At Jean's request there will be no formal services.
