Obituary

Jean L. Proffitt, 79, of Kennewick, WA, left us much too soon, passing away peacefully Thursday, August 12th, 2010 at her daughter's home. She was born to Henry and Elizabeth Adams on November 5, 1930, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jean spent her younger years in Wallace and Burke, Idaho. There she met the love of her life, Raymond H. Proffitt Jr. They married in 1948 and spent 54 years together before Ray passed away in 2002. Jean was an exceptional wife and loving mother. She always placed her family first. Jean was a homemaker but occasionally worked outside the home helping other families. She was a very caring and compassionate person who was always busy doing things for others and never asking for anything in return. She will be remembered for her zest for life, her giving nature and her wonderful spirit. Even after she got sick, she didn't let it slow her down. She continued to enjoy all that life had given and she graciously and cheerfully shared with others. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and their daughter, Melissa. Jean is survived by her oldest daughter, Debbie Marberg and her husband Richard of Kennewick; son, Tim Proffitt of McCleary; grandchildren, Mark Jordan and wife Joelle of Kennewick, Brent Jordan and wife Kelley of Kennewick, Riley Proffitt of McCleary, Brandan Proffitt of McCleary, Chelsea Jordan, Tyler Colean and great granddaughter Maerik Jordan all of Kennewick, WA. Jean's wishes were that no service be held and in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House, 2108 West Entiat Avenue, Kennewick, WA 99336 or the Tri-Cities Cancer Center, 7350 West Deschutes Avenue, Kennewick, WA 99336. We miss you Mom.
