Janet Marie Koeller a long-time resident of Kennewick, WA died unexpectedly on March 13, 2024, at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, WA.
Janet was born March 9, 1951, in Omaha, Nebraska to Bertha J. Anderson and Kenton Anderson.
Janet spent her early years in Beatrice, Nebraska. Her family then made the move to Grandview, Washington where she spent several years with family around the age of 9. Around the age of 12, Janet her parents and her sister moved to Benton City, Washington. Janet went back to Grandview, Washington at the age of 17 to live with her grandparents and finish her senior year there.
Janet met Neale Bates in 1968 and on October 31,1969, she and Neale were married at his parents' house in Prosser, Washington. On May 9, 1970, their daughter Brenda L. Bates was born at Prosser Memorial Hospital. Janet and Neale lived in Prosser with his parents as Neale was in the Coast Guard at the time. When Neale retired from the Coast Guard the family moved to Connell, Washington where Janet got a position as teacher's assistant. She also had several other jobs while living in Connell.
After the divorce in 1981, Janet remained in Connell until 1983 when she moved to Arizona for a brief while. She came back in the summer of 1984 and picked her daughter up from her dads and they moved to Benton City to live with her parents until she got back on her feet.
Janet and Brenda moved to Richland, Washington where Janet worked at the Copper Kettle. While at the Copper Kettle Janet met several lifelong friends.
In the winter of 1990, Janets first grandson was born, Janet and Brenda at this time were living in Kennewick, Washington and Janet was working at Pay-N-Pak.
Several years later Janet met the love of her life Larry Koeller, and they were married February 14, 1998, until the time of Larry's death on May 5, 2021.
Janet had a lust for life and enjoyed traveling with Larry. They took several cruises during their marriage and short mini road trips. Janet especially loved her grandsons and took great pride in them. She loved all her great grandchildren as well and each held a special place in her heart. Her daughter Brenda was the joy of her life, and she loved her so much.
Janet is preceded in death by her spouse, Lawrence Koeller, her mother Bertha J. Anderson, her stepfather Harold Norton, and her father Kenton Anderson.
Janet is survived by her daughter Brenda L. Bates of Kennewick, her twin sister Jackie L. Ragan (Russ) of Kennewick and half sister Tracy Morgan of Seattle. She is also survived by her nieces Christy Brady and Lori Scurlock and nephew Rob Nehls. She is also survived by her two grandsons Kyler J. Bates (Katana) and Bryson D. Slack (Sammi) as well as 5 great grandchildren Malaki Ernsdorff, Micha Ernsdorff, Aria Ernsdorff, Atlas Reser and Ava Bates.
Funeral services will be held at the Living Room Church, 1409 S. Garfield St. Kennewick, WA on April 20, 2024 at 2:00pm with a reception to follow.
Janets wishes were to be cremated and to be placed with her husband Larry at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick.
