Janet Rebecca Caulfield (Ferguson) was born October 12, 1982 in Tucson, AZ to her proud parents, Arnold and Ruth Ferguson. Janet is survived by her son, Shane Clayton Ferguson; her husband and soulmate, Adam Caulfield; parents, Arnold and Ruth Ferguson; sister, Julie Ferguson-Estes and husband Ronald Estes; beloved and trusted safe confidant Uncle Marvin McClure; Adam's sons Tyler (Jill), Chase, Tristan, and Bradley; and Uncle Jack and Aunt Becky McClure. Janet was preceded in passing by her Uncle Carrol Ferguson, Granddaddy King Ferguson, Grandma Janie Warren, Grandma Evelyn Ferguson, Grandma Zelda McClure, and Grandpa Phil McClure.

Our Janet passed away suddenly on September 2, 2025 from a previously undiagnosed congenital medical condition. By the grace of Our Heavenly Father, Janet was freed of her injured and aching earthly body without even a sliver of a moment of suffering when she passed away instantaneously even as numerous people strived to save her precious life. Janet's immediate family will be forever grateful for the exhaustive efforts by Nile Fire Department personnel following the continuous resuscitation efforts of Janet by her husband, Adam, and those of Adam's mother, Selina Hamilton and her husband Pat Hamilton.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest any donations be directed to the Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes Foundation at www.sads.org in Janet Caulfield's honor in support of advancing clinical research to develop better treatment, early diagnosis and intervention, raise awareness, and provide support and education to those impacted by such genetic disorders. Her family is absolutely certain Janet Caulfield would be honored for something positive and impactful to blossom from such a tragic loss.

Janet and her sister Julie were raised in numerous locations across the United States by their parents who met while proudly serving our country in the United States Armed Forces. These experiences eventually cultivated and fostered Janet's lifelong love of traveling and seeking new adventures. She and her husband, Adam, were fortunate enough to have traveled abundantly during their time together. They were each other's destined travel companion and their love for one another was unmistakable.

Janet's first and forever true love, however, entered her life and stole her heart the blessed day of October 11, 2001, when she got to meet and hold her son, Shane. Janet would literally beam with radiance anytime she got to be in the presence of Shane's face covered with pure joy, a raw and rare joy that children uniquely have the capacity for. In turn, Janet's entire radiance shifted from dim at times to often nearly blinding brilliance. Janet was always her most joyful and joy filled when Shane was experiencing things that filled her son with joy.

After a few years of trying to chart and find her own path, Janet ultimately decided to pursue a career in Industrial Hygiene at the Hanford Nuclear Site where she truly was able to let her full spunk, sass, tenacity, and potential absolutely shine. Janet, much like her Dad, was a fierce advocate for ensuring the safety and protection of all personnel at each site she was employed. Her dogged tenacity, coupled with her unique approach of delicate when needed or conversely bluntly bold if required, garnered her a level of admiration and respect in a career that's often scoffed at either by supervisory personnel or by the employees they seek to protect, and often by both. This, however, rarely occurred at sites where Janet worked. Her genuine concern was apparent and obvious to all, a trait inherited from both of her parents. Janet in many ways inherited or absorbed the best of her mom and her dad. She could assume the genteel nature of her mother. Also Janet would never hesitate to unapologetically and unabashedly stand upon the ethos of employee protection that all Safety Management and Industrial Hygiene professionals could use as a premier model, a principle she nor her father, Arnold, never waivered upon.

Anyone who ever encountered Janet, no matter how brief, knew she could raise a roof or burn it down so to speak. Either way, any place Janet entered was guaranteed to be loud and proud. She could be sweet, she could be sassy, she could be fierce, she could be tender, but whichever version or combination thereof; Janet Rebecca Caulfied (Ferguson) was a POWERFUL FORCE!
