Obituary

Elizebeth Jane White passed on to heaven on Thursday Morning at her home January 4th 2024 surrounded by three of her four boys. She was proceeded in death by her Husband of 70 years Dr. Dale White, her elder brother Dr. Samuel Saunders , and her beloved Niece who was also a nurse DaNee Meyers. They all passed on during the last year. Jane was the third child born to Winston Saunders and Elizabeth Jane (Cundiff) Saunders in Eagle Valley Oregon. She was raised in LaGrande Oregon where she was the Highschool ASB secretary. She moved to the Tri-Cities in 1956 with her husband Dr. Dale Caleb White to start a church which later became the Cathedral of Joy and now is known as Hill Spring Church.

Jane helped start the Cathedral of Joy by playing the piano, organ and running the Sunday School. But later she went to work for the Kennewick YMCA. After her dad Winston Saunders died of a heart attack she went back to school to become a nurse. She worked at Kennewick General Hospital for years with a group of very close nurse friends who remained friends all their lives. Their children have all been lifetime friends carrying on the friendship of that very special nursing staff.

Jane also worked at Lady of Lords Hospital as one of the first Nuclear Medicine technicians in the state of Washington. She raised four boys Dr. Timothy White, Contractor James White, Stephen White CEO of the Pacific Clinic and Kamiakin High-school teacher and coach (retired) Keith Duncan. She loved all her 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was considered "mama Jane"by many young people in the Tri-Cities and Seattle. After retiring she and her husband Dale moved to Seattle to join the staff of Washington Cathedral for seven years. She will be deeply missed for her unconditional love, wonderful sense of humor and unbridled joy by all of her family and many friends. Jane loved springtime so much that her that
