Jana Lynne (Dellwo) Barnes was born on January 19, 1951, in Spokane, WA, to her parents John and Vera Dellwo. She peacefully passed in her sleep on July 18, 2024, in Richland, WA, at 73 years of age. Jana's childhood included family camping trips and going out to Grandpa Art's farm. She chased the chickens, and the turkeys chased her. That feisty tomboy grew into a beautiful woman. Jana was the most honest, loyal, kind, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who was cherished by those lucky enough to have known her.

On May 23, 1970, Jana married her high school sweetheart, Harry Barnes. The young couple started their family, bringing four sons into the world; Randy, Jason, Sean and Ryan. Now it was not always easy raising four wild boys, but Jana was up for the challenge. Her boys were the love of her life, and she worked hard to give them the tools they needed to become the great men they are today. Jana and her beloved Harry's romance spanned over 54 years, creating a total of four children, fifteen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren (as of now).

Upon graduating from North Central High School, she went on to Spokane Community College. After a chance meeting with Denny McCana, she began a long rewarding career at MTM Mechanical. Around the mid 1990's, Jana made the brave choice to follow Harry to Browning MT. She worked at the elementary school in a special education classroom. Here, she was really in her element, discovering a deep love for the children. Once Harry opened the store, Jana became the office manager (she really wore many hats) for the next several years. Eventually retiring and moving to Richland, WA, where Jana finally slowed down and continued to spoil her beloved dog Sammi.

Grammy Jana as she was affectionately known by, was truly the happiest when spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Jana was also passionate about her Catholic faith. She rarely missed a Sunday Mass, even when traveling (wherever that would be), she would find a nearby church to attend. She was a leader in the Catholic Indian Community, as well as a Eucharistic minister and Reader at Little Flower Parish in Browning, MT. During her life, she was also an active parishioner at St. Anthony's Parish, Spokane, WA, Assumption Parish, Spokane, WA, and Holy Spirit Parish, Richland, WA.

Jana is survived by her husband Harry, her brother Mike (Cheri), her sisters Marcia and Kathy. Her sons Randy (Dameka), Jason (Sheri), Sean, Ryan (Tracy). Many grandchildren; Matthew (Lindsay), Morgen, Akacia, Syrenity, Christian (Hannah), Justin, Lauren, Alex (Taylor), Michelle, Jordan, Leilani, Logan, Breanna, Kenneth, and Kaitlyn. Her great grandchildren; Gianna, Beckham, Briar, Charlie, Everly and Eloise. In addition, her brother and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, a very large extended family. To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly, is an understatement.

Services for Jana will be held as follows; A Wake on Friday evening, August 2nd 6:00-8:00pm with the Rosary at 7:00-7:30pm. Her Funeral will be Saturday morning, August 3rd at 10:00-11:15am immediately following will be a reception 11:30-1:30pm with a chance to share funny stories and fond memories, as well as enjoy lunch and time with family and friends. This will all be located at Saint Thomas More Parish, in Spokane, WA. with Father Patrick Kerst.
