James "Jim" Mowatt Cox, 69, of West Richland, passed away in Kennewick, WA on December 27th, 2024. Jim was born on September 22, 1955, in Nyssa, OR to James Thomas Cox and Marlene Faye Cox. Jim was a long-time resident of the Tri-Cities and spent some time in Troy, MT for his senior year where he graduated from high school. After high school Jim returned to the Tri-Cities where he raised his family. Jim was a Jack of all trades. He enjoyed learning new skills and applying them to his daily life.
Jim enjoyed outdoor activities, including fishing, hunting, and going on day trips in the mountains and around the state looking at nature and wildlife. He was an avid reader who enjoyed science-fiction books and particularly loved duck hunting with his son-in-law Mike Reichert and fishing with his stepbrother Terry Bunten before his health deteriorated. Jim also loved spending time with his family and cultivated a love of reading and playing board and card games with his daughters.
Jim is survived by his love of 46 years Vicki Cox; children Jamie Cox, Kayla Dixion (Cody), Kristy Reichert (Mike), and Angela Halo. Grandchildren; Chelsea Clausen, Ashley Cooper, Justin Winkler, Danielle Brewer, Dylan Winkler, Kaity Sanders, Jordyn Winkler, Rachel Smith, Caleb Reichert, and Evelyn Reichert, as well as four great-grandchildren. Jim is also survived by his father James Thomas Cox (Fran); siblings, Ronda Beightol (Bob), and Steve Cox. Jim is preceded in death by his mother Marlene Faye Cox.
Memorial services will be held at Mueller's Funeral Home on January 2nd, 2024, at 11:00am, 1401 S. union St. Kennewick, WA with a reception to follow at Life Tributes, 314 W, First Ave. Kennewick, WA from 12:00pm-3:00pm
