Born December 31, 1921 to Cecil and Pearl Garrison in Mounds, Illinois and he married Virginia R. White on January 10, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. Jim was peacefully received into the arms of the Lord on December 30, 2008. Preceding him in death was his beloved wife, Virginia; his brother, Bill; and his parents. He is survived by his son, Harry and wife Pat; granddaughter, Pam and husband Glenn Frick and their children, Justin and Chance, all of Richland; his brother Bobby; and several nieces and nephews. Jim and Virginia spent most of their life in the Detroit suburb town of Taylor, Michigan. In 2003, they moved to Kennewick to be close to their family. Jim proudly defended his country as a Machinist's Mate Second Class in WWII in the Navy Amphibious Forces and participated in several Pacific invasions. Jim was a diesel equipment superintendent for the Edw. C. Levy Co. in Detroit until his retirement in 1985. He was a Past Master of Golden Ark Masonic Lodge #595 in Taylor, Michigan and was also a member of the Scottish Rite and The Shrine. He was proud to be a 60-year Mason. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking, and in his later years, cruising the Caribbean. He enjoyed life and made friends wherever he went. He will be remembered dearly by many. A Masonic Graveside Service will be held Friday, January 2, 2009, 1:00pm, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park's Mausoleum at the corner of 10th & Union Street in Kennewick.
