Obituary

Jim was born in Spokane, Washington April 23, 1943, passed away August 12, 2014 in Kennewick, Washington at Trios Health. He graduated from East Valley High School and after high school he joined the Air Force. While home on leave he met Pat Olson. They were married in Spokane on October 16, 1965. He joined the Washington State Patrol September 12, 1966 and was commissioned February 9, 1968. He was part of the 41st Trooper Cadet Class. He retired February 17, 1993. During his retirement, Jim enjoyed woodworking, gardening and building a Koi pond with a wooden bridge that crossed over the pond. Jim's love of woodworking also benefited the Wishing Star Foundation with a cradle and rocking horse he built and donated to be auctioned off. Jim also enjoyed volunteering at the Benton Franklin Fair where he shuttled folks around the fair grounds. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pat; son Bradley; daughter Brenda; and grandson Hayden. He is also survived by brother Larry; brother-in-law Charles; brother-in-law Doug Olson and wife Patti; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Darlene and brother Ron.
