Jack Lee James

Jack Lee James was born on August 1, 1948, in Yakima, Washington, to Elmore and Marion James. Jack’s story is one of dedication—to his family, his trade, and the outdoor life he cherished. On September 6, 2026, surrounded by loved ones in Richland, WA, Jack was called to Heaven, marking the end of a full and vibrant life. 

Growing up as the second oldest of six siblings, Jack was an adventurous spirit from the start. His formative years were marked by a love of the outdoors, rodeo thrills, and the roar of fast cars. Jack was a man who knew how to work hard, enjoy life, and make lasting memories with the people he loved. After attending Perry Technical College, where he studied refrigeration and electrical work, he built a career as a high-voltage electrician. He was also a competitive rodeo cowboy, a talented saddle maker, and a taxidermist—skills that reflected both his western roots and his remarkable ability to create things with his hands. 

Jack married Teresa Keeth on June 7, 1968. Together, they built a life filled with family, friendship, and countless adventures. They later made their home in Centerville, Washington, where they raised their three children, Kerry (Booth), Shannon (Weinzirl), and Dusty James. Fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, off-roading and all things outdoors remained more than hobbies; they were ways Jack bonded with family and friends and experienced the world around him. Whether he was sharing a story, working on a project, or enjoying time in nature, Jack had a way of making ordinary moments meaningful. 

His love, humor, strength, and generous spirit will be remembered and celebrated by those whose lives he touched. Jack is survived by his wife, Teresa; his children Kerry, Shannon and Dusty; his sons/daughter-in-law; Uncle Ray James; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. 

Funeral services celebrating Jack’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Centerville Community Church, followed by a reception at the Centerville Grange Hall in Centerville, Washington. Jack’s life was a testament to hard work, passion, and the enduring bonds of family, leaving an inspiring legacy for generations to come. In lieu of flowers, Jack’s family invites donations to the 4H Goldendale Archery Sharpshooters, honoring his spirit of mentorship and the outdoorsman community.
