Our cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and matriarch, Isabel Perez, entered eternal rest on May 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of her entire family after a full and blessed life of 95 years. Isabel was born in Algoma, Oregon, on November 18, 1929. Eventually, the family moved to Torreón, México, and at the age of 16 years old, she proudly earned a certificate of Corte y Confección (pattern making and sewing) from the Julia Banda seamstress school. She always enjoyed needlework, even into her 90's. Jose and Isabel met in Torreon and were married in 1951. In 1957, they moved closer to extended family in Toppenish, Washington, where the family grew until ultimately settling in Pasco in 1973.

Isabel was a woman of unwavering faith and strength. Her life was defined by her generosity, wisdom and a deep devotion to her family and the Catholic Church. She found joy in life's simple blessings — the grandchildren, praying the rosary and daily visits with those closest to her. She dedicated a lifetime caring for children while their parents worked. The living room was typically filled with kids and babies where they felt safe and loved. As the years passed, these children, now grown, continued to visit her. Isabel was an example of patience and service—one that lives on in the lives she helped shape.

Her love was often expressed through the meals she made. Isabel was a wonderful cook and her pozole, menudo, frijoles and famous rice were legendary, bringing warmth and comfort to all. Her kitchen was a place of welcome, not just for family, but for friends and even strangers who soon felt like family. She honored traditions and kept the spirit of holidays alive with her tamales at Christmas and special Lenten meals. Her food nourished not only the body—it brought people together.

Isabel will be deeply missed by her brothers, Isidro Aguirre and Lorenzo Aguirre; 11 children, Maura Ortiz, Jose "Joe" (Teri) Perez, Gerardo (Debbie) Perez, Mary (Albert) Andrade, Arthur (Priscilla) Perez, Margie (Tony) Maya, John (Julie) Perez, Enrique "Rick" (Adelina) Perez, Martin (Victoria) Perez, Jesse Perez, Guadalupe "Lupe" (Victor) Mendoza; 38 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Her memory will live on in their hearts and in the stories they will continue to share.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Antonio Perez; three beloved children who passed away in early childhood, Fernando, Juan Fernando and Maria; her parents, Antonino and Andrea Aguirre; siblings, Maura Castaneda Aguirre, Roberto Aguirre, Jose Aguirre, Maria Herminia Aguirre, Elias Aguirre and grandson, Jorge Luis Ortiz, Jr.

A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 15, at Mueller's Funeral Home, 1608 West Court St., Pasco, WA. with viewing from 4:00-8:00 p.m. There will be a Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 16, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1320 W. Henry St., Pasco, WA., followed by a graveside service at City View Cemetery, 1300 N. Oregon Ave, Pasco, WA.
