Irven Roberts (Bob) Meldrum

June 8, 1930 – April 1, 2024

Irven Roberts (Bob) Meldrum passed away peacefully April 1, 2024 in Kuna Idaho. Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was born to James Irven and Lucy Adelia Roberts Meldrum on June 8 1930 in Magrath Alberta Canada. He grew up on the farm helping his dad where he learned his strong work ethic. He graduated from Hill Spring High School in 1950. His family moved to Moses Lake Washington in 1950 where he met Joan Lowe. He enlisted in the USAF in 1951. He and Joan were married on August 1, 1952 in the Logan Utah LDS temple. In the USAF he was a radar instructor to NATO troops. He graduated from Utah State University in 1960. The family built a house in Bountiful Utah where he taught electronics and math at Bountiful High School. He drove truck for Wycoff Trucking Company on weekends and in the summer. He loved working with the Boy Scouts. He moved with his family to Basin City Washington in 1972 where he farmed and later owned and managed Soil Life Systems. He never really retired. He and Joan moved to Burbank Washington where he continued to run Soil Life Systems. He later moved to Kuna Idaho where he lived with his son Jim and daughter-in-law Heather until he passed away. One of his greatest hobbies was collecting tools.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Joan, brother Glen, sister Marie, brother in-law LeRoy Merrill, sister in-law Joyce Meldrum, and his son Kendall. He is survived by brothers Jim (Karen), David (Joyce dec), sister in-law Viki Meldrum, his children Joanne (Lennie) Hendrix, Kendall dec (Vicki), Michael (Judy), Sheryl (Dan dec) Gayda, W. James (Heather). Grand children Josh and Brian Hendrix, Robert Meldrum, Tiffany (Jason) Lindermuth, Brian Meldrum, Jennifer (John) Thompson, Sarah (Andy) Loosle, Nicole Baldwin, Kris (Audrea) Gayda, Jacob Gayda, Jeffery (Esther) Meldrum, Megan and Jaron Meldrum. 28 great grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Thanks to all who helped care for him from Horizon Hospice. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services for our dad, Irven R.(Bob) Meldrum, will be held April 20, 2024, at the Burbank chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 10:00 A.M. There will be a viewing that morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M.

The chapel is located at 7940 Lake Rd., Burbank, WA.

A viewing will also be held the preceding evening, April 19, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Mueller's Funeral Home, 1608 W. Court St, Pasco, WA. Burial at Country View Cemetery, Sheffield Rd Basin City, WA 99343 by Basin City WA.
