To love him, meant you met him. Homer Paul Boothe didn't have an offensive bone in his body, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing, or even meeting, him left feeling a little bit better, a little kinder toward others. Homer was born on October 15, 1943, in Walla Walla, WA, and moved to Tri-Cities as a baby. He lived most of his years in Pasco and passed away January 4, 2025, in Everett, WA during his annual holiday visit with family. He was 81 years old.

Homer grew up in a large household- Dorothy, his mother, Arnold (Smokey), his dad and eight brothers and sisters. Homer was the oldest, then came Beryna, Bob, Howard, Arnold, Boyd, David, Danny, and Lila. The stories of a family of nine growing up in the early days of Pasco are legendary. Everybody remembered Homer. Outgoing, handsome, with a love of music, he joined the Pasco Drum and Bugle Corps., The Columbians in high school. Homer greatly enjoyed his time with the Corps., and he carried the experience with him, attending Drum and Bugle competitions and shows for the rest of his life. It is where he met his beloved wife, Linda, while practicing and performing for the Corps. Linda Taylor would tag along with her brothers to Drum and Bugle Corps. practices. Homer and Linda got to talking and the rest was history. They married in 1964 and remained a loving couple until Linda's death in 2018.

Homer served his country for many years in the Army Reserves, completing Basic Training at Fort Lawton in Seattle, and reporting to the Big Pasco Industrial Center every month. Homer was a printer. He worked at many print shops around Tri-Cities, starting his career at Herff Jones Yearbooks, then later Pischell's Yearbooks as a layout floor manager. He worked in the industry for 47 years, retiring from the waste treatment plant, Bechtel, as a Retrographics Specialist in 2013.

The man is best defined as this: a Loving and Devoted Husband and Father. Steadfast, Homer affectionately assisted the love of his life, Linda, who suffered from MS most of her life. He was a lovable dad to his two daughters, Diana and LeeAnn, who referred to him as "Homer" like everyone else that knew and loved him. He had two daughters, but he was considered a father-figure by more than just his girls. He coached baseball and basketball, and he enjoyed the simple things in life, like the daily crossword puzzles he would solve religiously. He was an avid reader, often saying that his favorite book was "the one I'm reading right now." Homer also loved vacationing at Priest Lake, visiting family in Seattle, cruising with family to Alaska, enjoying weekend breakfast meetings with his buddies, grabbing a drive-thru Arby's or Bruchi's, and helping to take care of his mother, Dorothy, who lived to be 100. A lifelong Bob Dylan fan, Homer would amaze his grandkids with his Dylan guitar renditions and his vast mental library of Bob Dylan trivia.

Homer is survived by his daughters, Diana Torres of Pasco, WA and LeeAnn Myers (Brent) of Edmonds, WA. Homer also left grandsons, Justin Torres, Anthony Torres, Devin Myers, Simon Myers, and his granddaughter Genevieve Myers. He is also survived by brothers Howard Boothe (Stacey), Arnold Boothe (Donna), Boyd Boothe (Bev), and sisters Beryna Peck (Dave) and Lila Boothe. He is preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Smokey Boothe, and brothers Bob, David, and Danny Boothe.

Our dad (and grandfather) was there for us-aways. If we needed anything, he never hesitated to help and support us. He was stable, steady, and the most dependable person any of us has ever known. His passing was unexpected, and we have been left unprepared for his absence. It will take time to adjust to life without him.

We are so grateful for the example he set, and in the way he lived his life, and even more grateful for the many fantastic memories.
