Helen Yates Parks was born to Roy and Elma Bennett on June 16, 1925 in Downing, Missouri along with two brothers, Floyd and Irvin Bennett. On January 9, 1944 Helen married Leland Yates in Kirksville, Missouri and had four children; Donna Raines, James Yates, Debra Miller and David KathyYates. Helen has eight grandchildren, Kim Yates, Jim Tina Yates, Ryan Charity Yates, Ron Barb Raines, Mike Lori Raines, Heidi Yates, Jodi Miller and Kyle Miller. She also has eleven great grandchildren. Helen belonged to the Retail Clerks Union and worked for many grocery stores then retired from Safeway. She belongs to the Eagles Auxiliary in Pasco where she loved to play Bingo and is also a dual member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Kennewick. Helen then married John Parks on September 17, 1982. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son James Yates and her first husband, Leland Yates. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 1:00p.m. at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick.
