Helen Marco Johnson was an uncommon woman. Born in Philadelphia in 1924 to Greek immigrants, life was not easy. At the age of seven her parents divorced, and she was taken in by the Kallman Home for Orphaned Children in Brooklyn, New York, where she stayed until she was eighteen. She was a beautiful, athletic, and popular girl, the president of her high school class. When she left the orphanage, she married her childhood sweetheart, Thurston Johnson, and raised two sons: Allen and Ray. In 1953, the family of four moved to the Tri-Cities, where they set their roots for good. She dedicated her life to Jesus in 1955 and never looked back. She was promoted to heaven on May 16, 2008. Helen is remembered for her sweetness of spirit. A devout Christian, she was a source of council and comfort to hundreds in need of spiritual guidance. She remained to the end a source of light for those in the shadow of despair. She leaves an immeasurable legacy of virtue and wisdom to her family and friends. Helen is survived by her husband, Thurston, and her two sons, Allen and Ray. She was blessed by three grandchildren born to Ray and Jan Johnson-Shelley, Erin, and Amy-and eight great-grandchildren. Shelley and Dale Ainsworth's children are Chip, Alexis, and Aneliese; Erin and Chris Parker's children are Julia-Rae, Joshua, and Joy; Amy and Scott Seguin's children are Madeline and Finn. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday May 20, 2008 at 11:00 am at Faith Assembly Christian Center, 1800 Rd 72, in Pasco, WA. Visitation will be at the Church from 10:00 am to 11:00am. There will also be a visitation on Monday, May 19, 2008 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm., at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home, Pasco, WA.
