Obituary

Helen Francis Haugen, 88, of Pasco, went to be with her Heavenly Father after passing peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side on Mother's Day, May 10, 2026.

Helen was born on July 5, 1937, in Alliance, Nebraska, to Everett and Sylvia Meeker (Ellenwood). She was the youngest of five children. Helen grew up in Oregon, with a majority her of time in Scappoose and St. Helen's, where through church and tent revivals met the love of her life, John Haugen. They were married in Portland, Oregon on August 15, 1953.

They were traveling to Canada for their honeymoon when their car broke down in Kennewick and they never left the Tri-Cities. In 1976 they moved from Kennewick to Pasco to the "Farm" on the Kahlotus Highway. In 1996,

they sold the "Farm" and moved into town, where they bought 5 acres on Road 72.

Helen was proud that her primary job was a homemaker and that she raised 5 children.

She also supplemented the family income by selling Tupperware and for the last 26 years, Shaklee. Her Shaklee customers also became her friends.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, 4 siblings, her 2 daughters, Laurie Ann and Carol Jean, her grandson, Henry James and her husband of 64 years, John Farrell Haugen. She is survived by her 3 sons: John Mark (Susan), Stephen Paul (Mary) and Timothy Lane (Jennifer), 7 grandsons and 20 great grandchildren.

We will be laying her to rest at the City View Cemetery, 1300 N Oregon Ave., Pasco, Washington, on Friday, May 15, 2026, 2:00 PM. There will be no formal funeral ceremony.

Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home, 1608 W Court St. Pasco, Washington, is handling the arrangements.
