We had to say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Helen Leona Toothaker Gilbert on October 25, 2012. She had just celebrated her 100th birthday on October 13. It was a blessing to have her all these years. Helen was born in Hover, Washington, and was one of ten children born to Ernest and Norma Toothaker. She had five children: Beverly Nelson Stippich (husband Roy), Loren Gilbert (wife Teri), Gary Gilbert (wife Sharon), Marsha McCoy and Kevin Gilbert (wife Aleta). Helen had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her husband, Leslie Gilbert, and her two daughters, Beverly and Marsha, preceded her in death. Helen loved playing cards, doing ceramics, and knitting afghans for family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and rock hunting with Les. Her family wants to thank all the loved ones and friends for being a part of her life. She was a wonderful and amazing person. Helen will be greatly missed and forever loved. A graveside service will be Saturday, November 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
