Harry was born in Syracuse, New York on April 5, 1944, to Andrew McVicker and Pearl "Betty" [Hagerer]. He was the oldest of three children and grew up on a 300+ acre farm in Baldwinsville, NY. He attended Syracuse University and got his bachelor's degree in Industrial Design. Harry held many jobs in Industrial Design and Engineering on the east and west coasts and had 19 patents to his name. One of his last jobs landed him in Kennewick, Washington as an engineer for Infinia Corporation.

Harry was a master target shooter and was called the "Smith and Wesson Guy" when he worked as a range officer at the Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility in Benton City, WA. He also loved to read and especially enjoyed the books by Alexander McCall Smith. Of course, Robert Burns was a favorite of his and more so when Jean Redpath sang his works. Harry loved dogs and had a variety and at one time raised and showed Irish Wolfhounds, which he called "gentle giants".

Harry met his wife, Bonnie when they worked together at Panelview in Hillsboro, Oregon. After they married, they were still co-workers and one person asked how they could stand to be together 24/7 - they loved each other dearly and were good friends.

Harry is survived by his wife, Bonnie [Stark Mott] of Kennewick, WA, his brother, Andrew [Drew] McVicker of Halifax, Nova Scotia, his sister, Margaret [Maggie] Sinatra of Woodstock, GA, his daughters, Lauren Fritz and Cara Schanz of PA, stepchildren Jacob and Troy Mott and Kimber Donnelly of Oregon, eight grandchildren, and many McVicker cousins and family members. Harry will be laid to rest with his parents and other family members at Belle Isle Cemetery, Camillus, New York.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on November 4th at 6 pm at East River Fellowship, 5350 NE Elam Young Pkwy, Ste 102, Hillsboro, OR 97124. Another gathering and celebration of life will be held in upstate New York in August of 2023.
