Obituary

Our hearts are heavy yet overflowing with gratitude as we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved patriarch, Guillermo Chavollo Fraga, affectionately known as "Apa." He departed this world on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the age of 96. Apa leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of love, resilience, wisdom, and an indomitable spirit that profoundly touched five generations of his devoted family.

Born on September 23, 1930, in Hudson, Colorado, Apa's early life in Mexico City was marked by immense challenges. Born with a vision impairment, he endured the profound loss of his mother and baby sister at two, and his brother at four. These early adversities, however, did not diminish his spirit; instead, they forged a fiercely self-reliant man with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. He taught himself most of what he learned, transforming his vision impairment into a catalyst for ingenuity, beginning work at just 12 years old.

Apa’s brilliance and entrepreneurial spirit truly shone through his self-taught skills. He mastered electronics, proudly opening 'La Imperial Electronics Repair Shop' in Calexico, California. After moving his family to Kennewick, Washington, in 1970, Apa dedicated over 20 years to the Kennewick School District before his retirement. Never one to be idle, he channeled his passion for helping others into founding Fraga Tax Services in 1994, building a successful business known for its integrity and warmth. His commitment was unwavering; he tirelessly served his community right up until his very last days.

At the heart of Apa's world was his cherished wife, Angela Fraga Hernandez. Their 62 years together were a beautiful testament to a deep and abiding love, building a home filled with boundless laughter and unwavering support.

Apa will be lovingly remembered by his children, Jose Humberto and his wife Ino Montiel, Angelica and her husband Scott Soggee, Leticia and her husband Steven Nadler, Sandra and her husband Alejandro Najera, Myrna, George, John, Joel, Jozay and her life partner Josh Cook. Apa taught his children invaluable lessons of perseverance, empathy, and the unbreakable strength of family unity, not just through words, but through every challenge he overcame and every act of kindness he extended. His heart truly swelled with the arrival of each new generation, becoming a doting grandfather to 29 grandchildren, a playful great-grandfather to 51 great-grandchildren, and was incredibly blessed to cherish his 6 great-great-grandchildren.

He is now reunited with his beloved Angela, his cherished grandson Dan Garcia, his siblings Carlos and Magdalena, and his parents Adalberto Fraga Villalobos and Consuelo Fraga Chavollo.

Though our hearts ache with his absence, Apa’s light continues to shine brightly through the countless lives he touched and the enduring love he shared. His incredible journey taught us that love is the greatest strength, and his spirit will live on forever, inspiring and guiding his family for generations to come. He will be profoundly missed, but never, ever forgotten.
