Gelena 'Jewel' Huey, 94, died October 23, 2009, at her home in Kennewick, Washington. Jewel, as everybody knew her, was born April 12, 1915, in Iberia, Missouri, and has been a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities. Jewel is preceded in death by her mother, father, 11 siblings and her husband. She is survived by her sons, Robert Wade Huey Jr. of Kennewick, WA; Jerry Huey of Juno, AK; Richard Huey of Seattle, WA; and Mike Huey of Spokane, WA; and daughters-in-law, Terri Silver-Huey of Seattle, WA; and Jesse Huey of Spokane, WA; also by her grandchildren, Debie Dykes, Brandy Strait, Jodie Huey, Avi Silver-Huey; and great-grandchildren, Victoria Huey, Lenny Huey, Isaac Murcar, Nate Huey and Tanner Hambleton. Relatives, Freda Conrad, Beverly & Chuck Mosier of Riverton, WYO; Lillian Odom of Spokane, WA. Lifelong friends, Bettie Garbie and Elizabeth Blum of Aberdeen, WA; Helen Moss, Kristie & Don Gravelet-Blondin Snohomish, WA; and many others relatives and friends too numerous to list. Funeral services will be held at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick on South Union Street on Friday, October 30, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. and it will be a graveside service.
