Glenda Joy (Cason) Chapman passed peacefully from this earth on Dec. 9, 2018, into the loving presence of dear ones who've gone before and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Preceded in death by her husband of 65 yrs., Richard E. Chapman, parents Alvin & Mabel Cason, and brother Dwayne Cason. She is survived by her brother C. Lee Cason (Joyce), her daughter Gayle Potts (Brian), their children Brianna & Alexis (Clyde); daughter Sharon Kliegl (Dean) their children Harrison & Mariah; son Stephen Chapman (Traci), their children Stephanie (Calvin), Mason & Blake; and great-grandchildren Hunter & Madison, as well as brothers-in-law James Chapman (Shirley) and Hugh Chapman (Daisy). Glenda was born in Longview, WA on Nov. 28, 1933. When her family moved to Pasco as a teen, Glenda met her future husband, Rich, at Pasco High School, marrying June 24th, 1952 after her graduation. She worked as a bookkeeper for local auto dealerships in their early marriage. After the children were born, she dedicated herself to the role of wife, homemaker & mother. In her steady, efficient and practical way Glenda made it seem easy; always fresh-baked treats, a pantry of home-canned foods, immaculate home & garden, and a to-do list to be checked off. As the children grew, she returned to work; part-time while the children were in school, and after the children were on their own, various full-time positions until retirement. In retirement Glenda was busy with volunteer work for several community-service organizations, one of which was recently recognized in the local Senior Times with her fellow volunteers. She has been a dedicated member of Community of Christ church in Richland, giving many hours of service and support through her life. She enjoyed a full calendar of civic and social activities with her dear high school classmates, who she remained friends with through the years. Glenda's quiet care and thoughtfulness for others was a blessing to all who knew her. She leaves a deep hole in the hearts of her family and friends.
