Glen Roy Mahaffey, Jr., 45, beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle and cousin, of Richland, Washington, returned home to his Father in Heaven February 16, 2014. Glennie Boy, as he was affectionately known by those who knew and loved him, was born July 28, 1968 to Glen Roy Mahaffey, Sr. and Paula Sue Mahaffey. At the tender age of 15 he had a horrific motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down. Although he experienced many challenges and trials, he faced them with courage, determination and a positive attitude that was an inspiration to all those who crossed his path. After receiving his GED he continued his schooling and received an advanced clerical degree. He loved his work for (WPPS) Energy Northwest which he continued for 14 years until his health prevented full-time employment. Glennie had many loves in life. His dogs, Randy and Angel, were his dearest companions. Fishing filled his time with great joy and excitement. He cherished his days on the fishing boat with his father and nephews, Robert and Parker. His home aquarium was a sight to behold. His greatest joy in life was his car and racing with his friend Jay. Glen was survived by his parents; Glen and Paula; sister, Shauana (Bob) Sample; nephews, Robert and Parker Sample; grandfather, Lincoln Mahaffey, Jr.; and many loving uncles, aunts, and cousins and best friend Jay Swanson. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Genevieve Mahaffey, Doreen Hyatt, Donald Hyatt, (biological grandfather) Glen Roy Armstrong, Sr. and niece Brittany Sample. Visitations will be held Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union in Kennewick. Funeral services will be Monday, February 24, 2014 at 12:00 noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Union in Kennewick with viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m.
