On July 7, 2017, Gladys passed away suddenly, leaving those who knew and loved her shocked and deeply saddened. Gladys was born July 13, 1930 in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho to Bertha Jane Brand and Francis Clyde Whittum. Her early years were spent in Eastern Washington, living mostly in Zillah and the Yakima areas. The family moved to the Seattle area when she was around eight years of age. From there they moved to the Olympic Peninsula, specifically the Shine and Port Townsend areas where she met, then married, in March 1947, her beloved husband, John W. Feely. They were blessed with having three daughters, Helen M. Feely, Logan, UT; Linda C. (Carl) DiSalvo, Jacksonville, FL; and Deborah E. Doyle, Kennewick. Gladys lost her most beloved treasure, her husband, in January of 1985. They had 38 years of happiness together. Gladys spent most of her life being a homemaker and raising children, some of whom were not hers but that never stopped her from treating everyone like they were her own. She did work for the Crown- Zellerbach Paper in Port Townsend before the family moved to Kennewick in 1958 when John started work at the Boise Cascade Paper Mill in Wallula. During her 86 years of life, Gladys enjoyed raising her family, camping and planning yearly trips to visit relatives around the country. She could talk for hours about the trips she had taken and all the photographs she took along the way and compiled into photo albums. She was also an avid gardener and a devoted caregiver for her extended family whenever and wherever she was needed. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, a grandson and a great- granddaughter. She leaves behind her children; a beloved sister, Darlene Payne, Lady Lakes, FL; three grandchildren, Shantrell (Jason) Ritter, Amalga, UT; Rebecca Doyle- Koellner and Thomas Doyle, both of Kennewick; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister-in-law, Kathy (Feely) Dalton, Poulsbo, WA and several nieces and nephews. Gladys was a member; of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She greatly enjoyed her visits with all who came by to see her.
