Obituary

Geraldine Elaine Bruce, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024, at the age of 79. Her life was marked by an enduring love for her family, an unwavering faith, and a spirit of resilience.

Born on February 24, 1945, Gerry was a devoted mother to four children: Tim, John (Tonya), Janice (Brian) and Ammon (Melanie). Her greatest pride and joy were her eight grandchildren, Garrett, Trace, Alaina, Brennan, Allison, Aimee, Kambri and McKinley, who brought immense happiness to her life. Gerry's life was a testament to her boundless love and dedication to her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Yale Woodruff Larson and Norma Benham Larson, and her brother Woody (Viola) Larson. Gerry is survived by two brothers— Dean (Joyce) Larson and Allan (Leigh) Larson —who will miss her deeply.

A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gerry's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Gerry's love for family and faith was further exemplified by her active membership in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and her dedication to genealogy, connecting with her ancestral roots and honoring her pioneering heritage.

Despite the challenges of rheumatoid arthritis that she was diagnosed with in her early 20's and Alzheimer's disease that she faced in her later years, Gerry's spirit remained unyielding. She approached life with grace and a positive attitude, always finding joy in the simple pleasures.

A true "crunchy granola" mom, Gerry embraced a holistic lifestyle and instilled in her children and grandchildren a love for gardening, baking and healthy foods. Her belief that "families are forever" was a guiding principle in her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.

A funeral service will be held at the LDS Church at Hansen Park, 8120 W. 4th Ave., Kennewick on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with a viewing preceding the service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Mueller's Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
