Gerald "Jerry" Lovelass passed away peacefully on his 87th birthday, September 1, 2023. Jerry was born on September 1, 1936 in Yakima, Washington. He served his country in the U.S. Army. In the 1960's he went to work for the Northern Pacific Railroad. He transferred to the Tri Cities in 1966 where he met the love of his life, Phyllis. On December 15, 1968 they were married! His three children and her four children became a family. He continued to work for the railroad and advanced to Switchman, Yard Master and Conductor. His job took them to Idaho for 26 years and he retired in 1998.
While living in Idaho he enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing and camping. He loved the outdoors. And after moving back to Kennewick he became an avid golfer. When he wasn't golfing his wife Phyllis kept him busy with lots of projects, as he was very handy.
Jerry was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He and Phyllis enjoyed reading the Bible and attending church.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Leona Lovelass, his brother John Lovelass and his son Joe. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, his brother Vern, his children Jaki Petropouls, Joyce Williams, Tamara Williams, Natalie Lovelass, Keith Lovelass, Rocky Lovelass, their spouses, 16 grandchildren and his 12 great grandchildren. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
