Gerald Arthur Funnell, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on November 7, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on May 5, 1953, in Everett, Washington, to Gordon and Norma Funnell, Gerald lived a life filled with dedication, service, and love.

Gerald served his country with honor in the United States Air Force as a Radar Specialist from September 18, 1974, to August 30, 1977. His post-military career saw him contributing his skills and expertise to Battelle at the Hanford Nuclear Site, where he continued to work with computers and technology.

Though Gerald was never married, his life was rich with the love and affection of his family and friends. Upon retiring, he devoted much of his time and knowledge to serving the needs of his church, The Kennewick Church of Christ. His selflessness and commitment to his faith and community left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Gerald is survived by his brother, Gregory Funnell (Beverly), and his two sisters, Sharon Dunn (Donald) and Valerie Massie (Robert). He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, BJ Massie (Brandy), Jared Massie, Melissa Dunn, Emily Halvorsen (Gregory), and Andrew Dunn (Whitney), as well as his nine great-nieces and nephews. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Norma Funnell.

Gerald's memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of service, love, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.

A memorial service to honor Gerald will be held on November 22, 2024 at 11:00AM at the Kennewick Church of Christ. There will be a luncheon following the service.
