Georgene (Jean) Ransier has left us for the House of the Lord on April 23, 2015. She was born in Jefferson City, Missouri on October 24, 1928, and the seventh of 10 children. Her husband of 64 years, Ernest Ransier, preceded her in death in 2010. They had a very eventful life after their marriage in Kansas. Jean and her husband Ernest always said, "We married in the Midwest and have followed old Highway 12 all the way here (to Washington State). Any further west and we would have been in the ocean." During Jean's long and busy life, she went from being born in a covered wagon to seeing a man walking on the moon. Jean was an industrious woman, employed in many interesting and unusual occupations, such as cook, long-time foster parent, gas station pump attendant, house designer, blueprint maker, and carpenter. She was also a union laborer for Local #348- in addition to the important careers of wife, grandmother, gardener, seamstress, and most importantly of all, being our mom. Jean was cared for at the end of her life by the excellent staff at Rose Cottage in Kennewick and Hospice of the Tri-Cities. Georgene is survived by eldest son Fred and his wife Susan Ransier with sons Greg and Steven; Jean's eldest daughter Mary Perkins, with her daughter Susan and two sons, Tony and Jason; Jean's middle son Wayne Ransier; Jean's youngest son Larry and his wife Patty Ransier; Jean's youngest daughter Marie and her husband John Carder, with their son Andrew. Jean and her departed Husband Ernest devoted their lives to the Holiness of the Lord. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2015, 2:00 p.m., with viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick.
