Gary Hall McCourt, 70, passed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, October 29th at the Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick, WA. Gary was born in Fond du Lac, WI. to Phyllis M. and Howard C. McCourt. As a child growing up on the McCourt family dairy farm in Wisconsin, Gary developed the lifelong values of honesty, hard work, service to others and faith. He carried these values throughout his lifetime by being in God's word everyday and living out his faith. He graduated from Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac in 1966, and received his Bachelor's Degree in Agri-Business from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville in 1971. Gary met the love of his life, Cheryl Coxey at college and they were married in 1970 in Platteville, WI. Upon graduation, Gary worked for Green Giant in Wisconsin before moving to Washington state. Gary spent a 40-year career working for the same agricultural company under a variety of names, currently called Nutrien. He made many lifelong friends during this time. Gary was passionate about his hobbies, which included classic Mustangs and his Harley Davidson motorcycles. Whenever he was not working, and the pavement was dry, he was out cruising! Those left to honor Gary's memory are his wife, Cheryl, his daughter Shannon (Michael) Novakovich, his son Joshua (Gabby) McCourt, and his sister Valarie (Ron) Hessel. He was preceded in death by his parents Phyllis and Howard McCourt. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 2, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1401 So. Union St., Kennewick, WA 99338, followed by a Celebration of Life at The Garden Christian Assembly, 6811 West Okanogan Place, Kennewick, WA 99336.
