It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a great man. Gary Daniel Logsdon was born on December 13th 1944. Three days before his Dad would be fighting in the Battle of the Bulge in WWII. Gary was born to May and Daniel Logsdon of Colfax, Washington. Early on they moved to Spokane. He grew up helping on the family farms during the summers.

Gary was very athletic and loved playing multiple sports in high school. He graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelors degree in teaching. Later getting his Masters Degree. He became a history and English teacher at Park Middle School. He also coached football, wrestling and baseball for 100's of students. In the summers he would sell real estate. Gary was also a diehard fan of the WSU Cougars! He lived in the color crimson!

After getting his first teaching position with the Kennewick School District he met his wife Lynda and together they raised two boys, Ret and Dax. Gary enjoyed coaching the boys baseball, soccer and wrestling teams. Dax's high school wrestling wins were always one of his favorite topics to reminisce about. Gary and Dax were father and son but also close friends. Gary was an avid bowler and had many rewards tucked away in his closet from high score games while part of the Tri-city Bowling Association.

Gary retired after 31 years of teaching. He was an integral part of thousands of children's lives. For 25 years after retiring he would still run into old students and athletes who greeted him with joy. When he retired he was lucky enough to be a grandpa.

Gary was a proud grandpa of 6 grandkids. He loved being a Grandpa and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow and play sports. He of course loved to coach them in the background helping perfect Raif's stance in football to helping Cloe have the perfect arch for 3 pointers in basketball. He enjoyed cheering Azure on during gymnastics meets. He cherished movie nights with Raif. It would take them 4 hours to watch a 2 hour movie because they had to pause it to have a discussion about the movie especially, the historical war movies. He was very proud of Raif when he decided to attend WSU! Gary loved going with Azure to visit and feed her horse. He always enjoyed his visits with Cloe going over everything new in her life. He loved to keep up to date with the kids.

In 2022, Gary was devastated to lose his wife Lynda. Him and Lynda were married for 50 years! Him and Lynda spent retirement hanging out with close friends playing pinochle and scrabble. They enjoyed just being with their family and of course their grandkids. They enjoyed hosting the big holidays. They were so lucky to have that amount of time together but it still wasn't enough for Gary. He was ready to be back with the love of his life as time passed. Gary had a fantastic 80 years to be an incredible son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Not to mention a mentor, teacher and coach to thousands of children. Gary will be greatly missed by so many!

Gary is survived by his son and his wife Dax and Amanda Logsdon. Their three children, Azure, Raif and Cloe. Ret and his three daughters Lacie Frantzich, Isabelle and husband Marshal Bolte and Destiny Taylor. As well as his sister Cathy Neupert and many beloved cousins. Also survived by his life long friend Donny Rink.
