GALE "DUTCH" WENSVEEN was born on March 11, 1932 in Rotterdam Netherlands to Willem Van Wensveen and Metje Pieters. He was the youngest of six children. Dutch passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. Dutch migrated to the United States in the early 1950's. Dutch enlisted in the US Army and served this great country from 1954-1956 stationed in Korea. Dutch had three children from his first marriage to Barbara, Jim, Frank and Opal. He then married Marcella Gabaldon in 1967 and had two sons Jan and David, after becoming a widower in 1971. He met and married the love of his life Dorothy Edwards, together they raised this family and were married for 37 years when she passed. Dutch worked and retired from the USDA after 31 years as a meat inspector. His passion was his family; he spent countless hours at the baseball field watching his sons and grandchildren. For the last decade of his life he lived with his son Dave and wife Billie and had a special bond with their children Sierra, Garrick and Easton. Until his death he was the last member of a proud migrant family from the Netherlands. Dutch is survived by his children Jim and Frank Wensveen of Jerome Idaho and Opal Stapely of SLC Utah, Jan Wensveen of Kennewick, WA. and David Wensveen and wife Billie of West Richland, WA., numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. There will be a graveside service on January 19th at 2:00PM at Desert Lawn Memorial cemetery in Kennewick and then on April 2, 2016 a celebration of life will be held at Dave and Billie Wensveen' s house.
