Gail (Roberts) Albin Gail Rea (Roberts) Albin, beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister was greeted by her Lord and Savior on February 16, 2017 at the age of 69. She was born the eldest of seven children to Gordon and Dorothea Roberts on February 3, 1948. The family had their roots deeply in Pasco, Washington where they grew and flourished. Gail loved each of her siblings that came along with great devotion. With six siblings, her amazing organization skills began at a young age. As Gail grew, she became involved in many activities including Girl Scouts and 4-H in which she showed horses. She was also involved in the Methodist Youth Fellowship which helped to develop her strong faith in the Lord. Summers were busy for Gail in high school. She worked hard weeding sugar beets, and sorting potatoes for local farmers during harvest. These were times of hard work, and enjoyment working with friends. Unbeknownst to Gail, she would first meet her future husband, Arlen, in second grade. It wasn't until years down the road, as seniors in high school, that they began dating. After graduating from Pasco High School in 1966, Gail and Arlen both began attending Columbia Basin College. During this time, their love blossomed, and in October of 1967 their married life began. After Arlen entered the Army in 1969, Gail found out that she was expecting their first child, Dennis, while he was serving in Vietnam. Arlen was honorably discharged in 1970, and was eager to see his wife and six-month old son for the first time. Just a few years later, Arlen and Gail began farming. Gail worked alongside Arlen, weeding, changing irrigation sprinklers, and bookkeeping for the farm. Their happiness increased as children were added to complete the family: Dennis (1970), Jeffrey (1973), and Sara (1976). Gail was an amazing mother and later grandmother. She helped with, cheered for, and encouraged sporting events, school competitions, and music recitals. Arlen, Gail, and children became part of the Country Christian Center family where she developed strong, eternal bonds of love and friendship. In 1985, Gail began teaching at Country Christian School, then later became principal. She loved each student that ever walked through the doors of the school as if they were her own. Planning educational, missions, and field trips, and going on many of the adventures with the students filled her with joy! She desired academic success, but more so that students would develop the character of Jesus Christ. Gail drew people to herself like a magnet with her listening ear, wise advice, and caring smile. You were a friend for life, and she reminded you of this with encouraging notes and often a special meal. Gail shared her love for her family and friends by planning and cooking numerous meals for weddings, showers, funerals, and special events. This was evident in her expansive cookbook collection as she searched for new cookbooks and ideas with which to share. Gail lived life to the fullest and showed each of us God's grace and love. Gail is survived by her adoring and devoted husband Arlen, her children: Dennis (Tifany) Albin, Jeffrey (Josie) Albin, Sara (Monty) Mahler, grandchildren, Ashley Albin, Matthew Mahler, Mathew Topinka, Seth Mahler, Isaac Albin, Georgia Mahler, and Victoria Albin, her mother Dorothea Reed, and her siblings Mike (Cheryl) Roberts, Debra Mace, Vickie (Steve) Carpenter, Marlis (Dennis) Birge, May (Skip) Sandberg, and Chris (Debbie) Roberts, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Gordon Roberts. A graveside and memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Country Christian Center, 5500 W. Sagemoor Rd., Pasco. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gail's name can be made to Country Christian School, 5500 W.
