Fred Arthur Schweim (Art) was called to the Lord peacefully on June 9th, 2025. Art was born in Pratt, Kansas, on January 9th, 1936, to Fred and Lydia Schweim. Art married the love of his life, Jacqueline (Jackie) Joyce Schnitker on Sept. 2nd, 1961. They were married for 53 years before she died in 2014. Art graduated from the seminary in 1962 and was sent out west to start 2 new churches. One of them was Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Mountlake Terrace, and the other was St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Edmonds, Washington. Later, he was called to Eugene, Oregon to be a minister at Messiah Lutheran Church, where he also picked up a master's degree in education and music. After being a minister, he was a manager at a vacuum store.

After retirement, he got his dream job of working for the Mariners, where he was a tour guide. He loved talking with people, making them feel loved, and always making everyone around him comfortable. He was one of the kindest people who always had a smile on his face and someone you wanted to be around. He was a constant source of love, laughter, and humility. He loved food, being around family, and playing the card game "Oh Hell." He will be greatly missed and had a big influence on his family. We are grateful for the time we have had with him and will carry his light with us always.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie. He is survived by both of his children, David Schweim, Joyce Donais (Don). Also, his 5 grandchildren are Heather Manderbach (McKaden), Britney Donais, Casey Schweim, Jayson Schweim, and Shelby Schweim. The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th at 2pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Kennewick.
