Frank Arthur Graf, Jr., of Richland, Washington passed away on December 16, 2009. He was born on Nov. 24, 1931 in East Orange, New Jersey to Frances Arthur Graf and Louise Bertha Werner Graf. He married Sharon Clayton in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on May 31, 1957. They had seven children. Sharon preceded him in death. He married Margaret Minster on July 9, 2009. He received his Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering and worked in New Jersey, Idaho, Utah, Indiana, California, South Carolina and Richland, Washington working at Exxon, Battelle and Westinghouse/Hanford. He was an avid scout and served in his church as Scout Master in every place he lived. Frank loved the outdoors and took the scouts backpacking, white water canoeing, skiing, mountain climbing and deep sea fishing. He invented the sprinkler blowout project in the Tri-Cities which became a great fall fundraiser for the scouts in his troop. He also ran the Klondike for the Blue Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts of America, was an Eagle Scout and earned the Silver Beaver award. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was on the Scholarship Committee for the Perry Technical Institute for many years. Frank's love for fishing began as a boy, fishing with his father. He loved deep sea fishing and spent many summers with his sons, grandsons and friends fishing in Barclay Sound, British Columbia on his boat MI$$ 401 KAY. He served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints driving truck for the Bishop's Storehouse. He drove for over four years and was saddened when his health made it impossible to continue. He loved sharing his missionary, fishing and scouting stories with all who would listen. He is survived by his wife, Margaret and six children: Frank Arthur Graf III Deborah of Sandy, Utah; Kathryn Diane Graf Mechling Donald of Orem, Utah; Karen Louise Graf Diket Chris of Thibodaux, Louisiana; Jonathan Clay Graf Lanni of North Richland Hills, Texas; Linda Marie Graf Santo Pietro Kevin of Kennewick, Washington; and Aaron William Graf Dawn of Vancouver, Washington; 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and his sister June Urna of Wayne New Jersey. His infant son David Clark Graf, who was stillborn, is buried in Redlands, California. He is preceded in death by his grandson Samuel Airth Stewart. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm. on Monday December 21, 2009, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1321 Jadwin, Richland, Washington. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1401 South Union St; Kennewick, Washington. The family wishes to extend our thanks for the loving and compassionate care that Frank received at Richland Rehabilitation Center.
