Florence Francis Ternes passed away on June 29, 2010, at the home of her daughter in Spokane. She was 83. Florence, 'Flo' to many, was born March 1, 1927, in Sidney, MT, one of eleven children. She moved with her family to Stevensville MT, and then Anaconda, MT, where she first met her future husband, Hank. She moved to Kennewick in 1944, married Hank, and has lived there ever since. Florence had a lively, outgoing and welcoming personality. She valued her family and her friends above all, and her home was frequently filled with guests enjoying her hospitality. She was active in the Parish of the Holy Spirit where she enjoyed the camaraderie and friendship of the community. In her later years, she adopted her little dog Gracie, who was her constant companion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hank Ternes. They were married from 1944 until the time of his death in 2003. She is survived by her children, Randy Ternes of Seattle; Kim Ewing and her husband Jim Ewing of Spokane; and her three grandchildren, who brought her much joy, Evan, Keller, and Bethany Ewing. She also leaves her sister Agnes Maracich of Anaconda, MT; and her brothers, Larry Schmidt of Kennewick; and Richard Schmidt of St. Maries, ID. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 6th, from 3-8 p.m. at Mueller's Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Rosary will be said at Mueller's on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at the Parish of the Holy Spirit on Wednesday July 7th, at 11 a.m., followed by lunch.
