Obituary

On the morning of October 28th 2018, Faustine Morgan Langston passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family and went softly into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Faustine was born May 4th, 1932 in Skeene, Mississippi where she spent her formative years on a cotton farm. In 1948 her family moved to Richland where she attended and graduated from Columbia High School. Soon after, while working as a waitress at Picolli's Restaurant, she met and married the love of her life Justin and welcomed three beautiful children. Settling into her life as a home maker, nothing was more important to her than taking care of her family and mixing in regular visits with her mother and best friend, Flossie Morgan. With the passing of Justin in 1993, Faustine sought refuge in the Lord and continued to blossom in her Christian faith all the way until the end. A proud member of Highway Tabernacle Church of God for over 25 years, she spent most Sundays with her sisters in Christ and thoroughly enjoyed helping out in the kitchen, food bank and nursery as much as needed. While at home, she often found herself immersed in her Bible and relished being part of a weekly prayer chain, having the opportunity to pray for the health and recovery of anyone who needed it. Away from her church duties, Faustine loved to visit over coffee or iced tea. It was quite common for afternoon conversations to work their way into the evening or beyond midnight around the holidays as she soaked up her time with those that had ventured in from out of town. Everyone knew how much Faustine loved babies. Completely fascinated and in a state of constant joy it seemed, she was always eager to hold and embrace new additions and treated all children like family regardless of the connection. Faustine loved her family and friends so much and lived her faith with each and every breath, reminding those who knew her best to find the joy in life at each and every impasse. She was preceded in death by her parents, Flossie and Walter, her husband Justin and cherished grand-daughter Christina Langston. She is survived by her three children, Debbie, Laura (Lou) and Mark, grand-children Jason (Suzanne) & Jon and great grandson Jacob, brother Walter (Alice) and sisters Hazel and Linda. Special thanks to Tranquility Manor, her on call nurses and Heartlinks Hospice & Palliative Care. The family would also like to thank her church family and neighbors that helped her to transition to her new life away from home and continued to visit and support her all the way to the end. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 9th at 11 AM at Highway Tabernacle Church of God, located at 2715 W 7th Avenue in Kennewick. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Highway Tabernacle Church of God or Heartlinks Hospice & Palliative Care.
