Obituary

Ethel ("Dolly") Mae Koestline Griffin passed away on Monday, December 29 at the age of 96. She was born in Bradenton, Florida on January 19, 1929. She is pre-deceased by her mother Emma, father Herman, brother William, sister Sarah, grandson Benjamin, and her husband of 65 years, Jesse Edward Griffin. Dolly was a career homemaker extraordinaire - - a master of Southern Cuisine and a very gifted flower gardener, especially with orchids. All her life "working in the dirt" was her greatest joy. She is pictured with grand-dog Daisy.

Dolly lived all over the South including Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Louisiana, and Mississippi. She spent her child-rearing years in Shreveport, Louisiana raising two sons Jeffrey and Philip. Weekends were frequently spent sailing with the family on Cross Lake. Her final years were spent much closer to family in either Vancouver or Kennewick, Washington. In 2023, a fall placed her in Regency Canyon Lakes nursing home where she resided until her death. During her stay at Regency Canyon Lakes, the staff became family to her and she loved them all.

She is survived by her sons Jeffrey and Philiip, Jeff's wife Shirley, grandson Peter and his family (Peter's wife Valerie Tedeschi, and daughters Kaylyn and Luna) and granddaughter Keena Frasier Girardi. In lieu of a service, a visitation will be held at Mueller's Funeral Home, 1401 South Union, Kennewick, WA from 11:30am – 3:30pm Wednesday, January 14th, 2026.
