Obituary

On October 2, 2023, Eric fought courageously and hard but lost his battle with melanoma. At the time that he left us, he was surrounded by his family. His passing has left our lives a little emptier and sadder, but his memory will be with us forever.

He was born on June 15,1981 in Bend, Oregon and lived in Prineville until the age of four when his family moved to Kennewick WA. He graduated from Kennewick High School in June of 1999, attended CBC for a short while, and eventually moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He learned to install and work in the countertop business. While in New Mexico, he met people who would become his life long friends. Eventually, he moved back to the Tri-Cities , worked for Mattress Firm for a while, and then on to work for GSS Fabricators as a countertop installer. Here he found his niche with a great employer and co-workers.

When Eric was 12 years old and working on a school project, he described himself as "nice, kind, shy and creative" and that held true to the end of his life. He enjoyed hanging out with his nephews "being nerdy." He like going on trips and concerts with his friends and he was a fantastic artist. He would draw something on any bit of paper, big or small, with No. 2 pencils!

We want to thank Eric's friends who traveled near and far, who stayed with him both day and night while he was hospitalized and in hospice and never left him alone – his childhood friend, Todd Nyman, Phoenix AZ; Jesus Zavala and Monique Sers, both from Albuquerque, Elizabeth Mendel, Portland OR; and David and Michelle Mercado, Pasco WA.

Eric is survived by his parents, Don and Anita Mouda; sSister, Christina Isley; nephews, David Isley (Cassie) Isley; Jacob (Kayla) Isley; and Shawn Isley; great nephews , Eric (his namesake) Isley, Colton Isley; nieces, Jorja Jerritt and Charlotte (Charlie) Isley; Aunts – Norma Mast (Kennewick), Beverly (Mike) Watson (Topeka KS), Wendy Clark (Foley AL), Billie Clark and Uncle Stanley Clark (both of Chillicothe, OH); and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Stanley and Florence Mouda and maternal grandparents, Raymond and Irene Clark. Eric, you're now with your good buddy, Rudy the Bulldog!

We will miss your smile, your laugh and sense of humor, your kindness, those incredible hugs and your love. Forever and always – keep smiling! A celebration of Eric will be held at a later date.
