Enrique Henry Montelongo Sr., 83, went to the Lord on November 3, 2009, with his loving family at his bedside. He was born in Havana, Texas, October 26, 1926. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army, stationed in Japan, as a military policeman. In 1948, he met and married the love of his life Consuelo Esparza. After migrating for a period of five years he felt it was important to settle down so that his children would have the opportunity to gain a good education. He settled in the Tri-Cities in 1956, making the Montelongo family one of the first few Hispanic families to settle in this area. He worked for the Burlington Railroad Co. 33 years until retirement. Enrique was a dedicated family man. One of his biggest enjoyments was fishing with his friends and family while playing the blues on his harmonica waiting for that big bite. He enjoyed accompanying his daughters to play Bingo, and was an avid Mariners fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abelardo and Senaida Montelongo, two brothers, Lupe Montelongo, Domingo Montelongo, four sisters Florita Montelongo, Petra Mendoza, Sara Alaniz, and Aurora Soliz, a son, Abelardo Monetlongo , a daughter, Sanjuanita Montelongo, granddaughter, Sanjuanita Montelongo, and a great-grand child Domingo Javier Andrade . He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Consuelo Montelongo, a sister Josefina Leal, Texas, and his children and spouses, Rosie Schlotman, Pasco, WA, Rebecca Trenidad, Pasco WA, Irma and Praxedis Garza, Edinburge TX, Connie and Jacinto Limon, Pasco WA, Henry Montelongo Jr., Pasco WA, Albert and Lupe Montelongo Kennewick WA, Ester Ortega, Pasco WA, Mary and Ahamed Isamail, United Emirates, Senaida and John Megow, Renton WA, Susie and Daniel Lopez, Pasco, WA, Anita and Gabriel Moreno, Louisville Kentucky, and Jose Montelongo, Pasco WA. He leaves behind a legacy of forty-three grand children, forty great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, and a great many nieces and nephews. He will forever stay in our hearts and will be greatly missed until we meet again. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Friday, November 6, 2009 at 6:30pm, with visitation Thursday, November 5 and Friday, November 6, 2009 from 5 to 8:00 pm at Mueller?s Greenlee Funeral Home, in Pasco. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with interment to follow at City View Cemetery.
