Emma was born in Little Falls Minnesota to James and Emma Pedley, one of seven children. All preceded her in death except one sister who resides in St. Paul, Minnesota. Emma attended grade school in a one room school house that included all eight grades. She went on to graduate from high school in Little Falls, MN. After graduating from high school, she married Martin Piekarski. They had four children, Jean, Donna, Kenneth, and Myrna. They raised their children for the most part in Northern Idaho on what was referred to as a stump farm. The next move was to Newberg, Oregon and they eventually settled in Basin City, WA where Martin farmed. While there they adopted two boys, Kelly and Russell. Upon retirement from farming, they moved to Kennewick where Emma was very active in bowling, golf, and playing bridge. She finally decided to give up keeping her own home and moved into Hawthorne Court where her favorite game was playing penny poker. When illness struck, she moved to Canyon Lakes facility where she received loving care. Emma was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Martin, son Kenneth Piekarski and son Kelly Piekarski. She is survived by daughters Jean Nelson, Donna Stuhr, Myrna Curran and husband David, son Russell Piekarski, and sister Anna Skaj. Emma has many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great, grandchildren and even great, great, great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Burial will be in Riverview Heights Cemetery.
