Elsa Elizabeth Moore

12/03/1936 – 03/24/2026

Our beloved Mom, Elsa passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, at the age of 89.

She was born in Worchester, Massachusetts to Carl and Sigrid Blomquist and grew up on her parent's small family farm in Millbury, Massachusetts.

She married Donald Moore on October 1,1955 and they had three children, Jennifer, Jeffery and Johanna. They lived in New Jersey until 1976 when they moved to Washington State.

She learned to sew at an early age and developed a lifelong passion for it. When she was very young, she worked for a tailor and throughout her life she worked as a seamstress including working in the alteration department at J.C. Penny's and doing alterations out of her home, she also made custom bridal and prom dresses. Later in life she used her skills to make beautiful quilts which she donated to great causes including Hospice, The Cancer Center and Quilts of Valor for our local Vets.

Her crafting and artistic abilities were numerous. She spent many years making ornamental eggs with her friends, aka the Eggers. She made tons of crochet scrubbies and knitted dish towels which she gave away as fast as she made them.

Her skills in the kitchen were fabulous and whenever she had guests over, she made sure everyone had their favorite dishes available.

Elsa was loving, generous, talented, funny and totally accepting of everyone. Her house and table were always a place to hang out for friends and family to enjoy good food and great company. Her naturally warm presence made everyone feel welcome.

Throughout her life she influenced and touched many lives, whether it was as a Girl Scout leader, a sewing teacher, a mom or a friend. She shared knowledge, skills, ideas, and stories and people were always better for it. She said that the greatest treasures in her life were her friends and family.

She will be forever loved and fondly remembered by all that knew her.
