Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Boothe was born October 24, 1976 and passed away July 23, 2021 at Chaplaincy Hospice Kennewick after a courageous battle with cancer. Libby was a fairy changeling who entered this life in Mankato, MN, where she was quickly snatched up and beloved by her adoptive parents, Jan and Charles Devos, and she was furthermore adopted by the hundreds who claimed her as a sister. She alternated between the East coast of Florida, outer edges of Minnesota, and the dry parts of Washington… like a gypsy never clinging with roots more than five years— While not quite the Viking funeral she would love, Libby's mortal coil was borne to ash on a funeral pyre, in final transition to new purified form. Warrior, mother, battler and lover of wildlife—now spends her time with a sharp eye on her four boys and clumsy husband (giggling at their antics) and devoting leisure time stirring quiet mischief from the next place like Tori Amos's "happy phantom". Libby's words of advice: Stay flexible but stop chewing your toenails, don't lick the trash can, stop touching that, go out and find a special rock, embrace your artistic side, and be ridiculous. We kind of like her. Libby is survived by sons Soloman, 16, Samedi, 10, Jesse, 8, and Maximilian, 5, clumsy husband Gabriel, mother Jan Devos of Jacksonville Beach, FL, father and stepmother Charles and Marlene Devos of Rochester, MN, brother and sister-in-law Ted and Elizabeth Devos of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law John and Roberta Drew, and father-in-law Gary Boothe. Also aunts and uncles Cathy Devos, Rochester, MN, judy and Doug Curtis of Cape Coral, FL, Robert and Janice Thieman of Seward, NB, Dayle and Carmella Kinkaid of Hartington, NB, as well as numerous cousins and families. Libby is predeceased by sister-in-law Amber Boothe, stepmother-in-law Cathy Boothe, and grandparents Leo and Phyllis Thieman and George and Irene Devos. Memorial Mass for Libby will be July 30, 2021 at 11:00a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in the small chapel with Father Felipe Puildo officiating.
